Title: Can a person reach the level of the Siddiqeen?

Question

AssalamuAlaikum,

Respected Ulama,Muftiyan and Tulaba I want some knowledge about the pious people called ''Siddiqeen''.

Who are the siddiqeen, what are the speacial deeds the do ? can a person reach their level ?if yes,so what is the amal and what is the path...I want to know about them with tafseel.

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

Almighty Allah refers to the Siddiqeen in the following verse,

“Whoever obeys Allah and his messenger, they will be with those whom Allah bestowed his bounties, Ambiya, Siddiqeen, Shuhadah, and the Saliheen. These are indeed the best of companions.” (Suratul-Nisaa, verse; 69)

The prescription to be among the Siddiqeen according to the above verse is to obey Allah And His Rasul.

Another prescription to be Siddiq is be truthful as stated in the following Hadith,

“A man who continues to be truthful, Allah Taala will register him as a Siddiq. And a man who continues to lie, Allah Taala will register him as a liar.” [i]

And Allah Ta‘āla Knows Best
